It's not running along with all the remaining Google services and it closes as soon as I click on it.Do you think it's legit?

Ofcourse its legit, and there is no way malware will come on device unless you install shady apps

Google Play Services or GMS is a backend framework for all your apps. It provides various important frameworks for your favourite apps like Google App, Calender, GMail, YouTube, Playstore, Chrome and also 3rd party apps like WhatsApp and your banking apps.

Please don't forcefully uninstall this.
