Galaxy MNoticed small pink dots on the side of my six months old M21 yesterday evening. Within less than 12 hours, the pink dots expanded to cover almost quarter of my mobile. There is no physical damage, in fact I've been using a screen guard and a thick back cover from day one. What else can one do to protect the device ?
I went to a nearby authorized service center (Marina Mall,Chennai,India) , the guy there didn't even flinch. He said, "This is not covered in warranty". He won't talk anything further, he was very quiet when I asked him to show me any evidence of physical damage.
Apparently, it could be repaired at a cost ,which is almost half the actual price of the product. Really? The onus is on the consumer for a poorly manufactured product? Why would I pay more money when there is no guarantee that it will last more than half a year? Anyone had any luck in getting this repaired with warranty?
Clearly, Samsung is aware of this prevalent issue and has an SOP in place for dealing with visitors to the service center. This is pretty evident from the number of posts about expanding pink spots on this forum.

Galaxy MTotally agree on the obscenity of the comparison. Of course, I didn't expect such build quality from M21 nor did I expect it to last more than 2 years. I did expect it to work reasonably well for the first year and half , deteriorate slowly and die a slow death by the end of year two.

Galaxy MDefinitely don't remember doing anything unusual with the phone :) . I'm very sure I didn't do any damage to the phone.

Galaxy MWill try all that. What irked me the most was blaming the consumer as their first response. When this issue is very prevalent among many Galaxy phones, and only Galaxy phones, why tarnish their reputation further by pushing back.

Galaxy MAfter calling and explaining about my phone to samsung call center, they asked me to take it to the same service center ( it was supposedly impact damage and not covered under warranty the first time) This time they accepted the phone and gave me a job sheet.
After daily follow up and constant requests, after almost a week they have apparently uncovered water inside my phone. I didn't drop it in water or come close to water with that phone, so I categorically deny their waterlogging story. The lengths they go to avoid repairing phone under warranty.
All along samsung was telling about impact damage, now that you can't prove it in anyway , they are conveniently telling there is water logging and no repair is covered under warranty even if the the pink spots on the screen may or may not be related to the water presence.
