Galaxy MTry posting an error log under "sensors" section under the "error report" part of the "support" tab in the bottom of the home page on your mobile's members app first..
You must follow these steps.
1. Try to use the fingerprint sensor (to showcase the error in the recent log).
2. Within thr next 10 mins of this error, come to this app n report error as specified above. The team will try to help you out.
Worst case, u may have to visit the service center.. Lets hope for the best.

Galaxy M1. Open the dialler, press in *#0*#.
2. In the opened menu, choose sensors.
3. Under the fingerprint, check normal, test n see the results..
