I purchased this M31 mobile on feb-2020, since day 1 i'm using the feature adaptive brightness and i don't have any issue with it but after jan-23 update i'm facing issue with it. 40% of my battery was used by this adaptive brightness. Same was complained to samsung but they simply asking to format the device.

Is anyone having the same issue and anyother solution you know, please let me know.

Dear Samsung member,

Greetings from Samsung customer support.

>>Activative Adaptive brightness:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap Display.
3. Tap the switch next to Adaptive brightness.
4. Slide the brightness bar to the right to maintain the screen brightness according to the sounding

>>Reset the settings:
Step1: Navigate to app's screen and tap on Settings.
Step2: Tap on General Management.
Step3: Tap on Reset.
Reset settings: Reset all settings to their default

Battery life depends on how the battery is used. Note that different devices have different battery life. The expected battery life for your model can be found in the manual.

Kindly perform some quick troubleshooting steps to resolve your issue:

Please always use a standard charging procedure. Always charge in one go instead of charging many times as it affects the life span of the battery and battery performance.

Perform Battery Optimization: Battery optimization helps you to boost the battery performance of your device. To check battery optimization:

Settings > Select Device Maintenance/Device Care > Optimize > Optimize all options like Battery, Storage and Memory

Turn off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth etc.
Turn off unused functions like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth & Location settings when not using them.

Please follow the below steps:
Step1: On the home screen swipe down the notification panel.
Step2: Turn off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and other connectivity features when not using them.

Check device network fluctuation
Kindly check whether mobile network fluctuates frequently or network signal is low in your area. In both cases battery will drain considerably fast.
Recommendation: We recommend you to avoid usage in area with low network/fluctuation.

Reduce display brightness level
Kindly set the device display brightness in auto mode (If available).
Steps for setting display brightness in auto mode:
Swipe down on the home screen to open notification panel
Turn on Auto brightness option if available.
It will automatically adjust the display brightness of your device according to ambient light & will reduce the battery drainage.

Adjust screen timeout settings
Please follow the below steps:
Note: Steps and Images may vary according to OS.
Step1: Navigate to apps screen and tap on Settings.
Step2: Tap on Display.
Step3: Tap Screen timeout.
Step4: Select minimum screen timeout.

Check and update the App
Kindly check which application is or interface is using more battery from device care. And try to update app or avoid using that app.

Close background running apps
''Multiple applications'' are running in the background of the device?
When running multiple applications, the processor processes more tasks and as a result, additional heat is released from the device. This happens with most electronic devices (even computers/laptops), including the devices of other manufacturers. Close all the background running apps when not using them,

How to close:
Tap on recent key and close the background running application.

Turn off auto sync of e-mails, app data etc.
We request you to turn off the auto sync option, it will stop the synchronization of device with server & reduce the battery drainage.
Steps to turn off auto sync are:
1.Swipe down on the home screen to open notification panel.
2.Turn off auto sync option.

Check the device in safe mode: https://www.samsung.com/in/support/mobile-devices/safe-mode-on-samsung-phones/

Update device software (If Software update available): https://www.samsung.com/in/support/mobile-devices/samsung-galaxy-smartphone-how-to-update-software/

Reset the device: https://www.samsung.com/in/support/mobile-devices/samsung-galaxy-mobile-how-to-perform-a-factory-res...

In case the issue still occurs. Please register your concern in Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on error report > Type your query > Send).

Warm regard,
Samsung customer support

I followed all the given steps except Factory data reset. Still CameraLightSensor is consuming more power. After following those steps i used this device for 1 week and psoting those results. I will use device till battery reaches 25% of battery and put it on charge till 100% straight (i don't use mobile while in charging). Every day i observed that cameralightsensor is consuming power not less than 25% (when battery reached 25%). I don't want to do factory data reset. 1708280438911.jpg
