Check your device's sound settings: Some devices require you to turn on audio through your USB-C port.
Try a different device: You can try plugging your earphones into a different device to see if the problem is with your earphones or the USB-C adapter.

As per your query, we would like to inform you that your phone does have a 3.5 mm headphone jack along with a C-type port. So, The calling features will only work when you connect your wired headphones to a 3.5 mm headphone jack because the C-type port doesn't support the calling features.
