Dear users,

Please join this thread if your device went in bootloop after an update received between 11th and 15th Dec 2023 with Nov23 security patch.
My device went in bootloop. There was nothing I could do even to switch off. Called almost two times to samsung customer executives.Sorry to say people there are of zero knowledge on smartphones.
Somewhat I managed to enter into recovery mode using local PC and deleted data, cache partition to restore to initial setup screen. But final finding is that finger print scanner is bricked.Could not make it working .This has happened due to samsung update

Samsung intentionally throws many such updates to promote it's sales ,in process making devices bricked.Beware ! DONT UPDATE

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we want to inform you that the software update is developed to enhance the performance or stability of the smartphone and it is fully tested in different stages. The issue could occur due to usage and various other factors, in case there is any kind of issue that occurs after the update then we are always helping our customers to resolve their issues.

If you are facing a fingerprint issue, kindly perform the following steps to resolve your issue.

If your fingerprints fail to unlock the phone, and you are asked to type in the lock screen password, follow the same steps to resolve the problem:

Have you checked your fingers?
Ensure that your fingers are clean and dry.
Note:
If the skin on your fingertips is peeling or cracking, or your fingerprint is difficult to capture, the fingerprint ID on your phone may not work.
If your fingerprints fail to unlock the phone while the phone is recharging, remove it from the charger and try again. If you are charging the phone with a charger and data cable from other brands when you use fingerprints to unlock the phone, they may interfere with the fingerprint sensor and cause the recognition to fail.

Clean the fingerprint sensor with a soft cloth. Make sure the fingerprint sensor is dry and free from any debris that may cause the sensor to be unable to recognize the fingerprint.

Please remove the current fingerprint and set up the fingerprint again. When you touch the sensor to set up a fingerprint, make sure you set the entire fingerprint, including the outer area of your fingertip. Setting the entire fingerprint area enables successful fingerprint recognition with any grip.

Please follow the below steps:
How to remove Fingerprint:
Tap on Settings >Biometrics and Security > Fingerprints> Fingerprint1> Remove> Tap on Remove again to confirm.

How to Set up Fingerprint:
Tap on Settings> Biometrics and Security>Fingerprints Tap on Add Fingerprint> Scan your fingerprint>Place your finger on the sensor, then lift it off when you feel a vibration> Continue >Reposition your finger each time to capture the edge of your fingerprint> Done.>Fingerprint added successfully.
