Galaxy AHi vmirax, please runs a service test on your Fingerprint sensor.
- From the phone dialler, enter *#0*#.
- Select Sensor
- Scroll down
- Under the Fingerprint test, Select Normal scan.
If the issue persists, please perform a soft reset of your device.
Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds.
*The device may take a screenshot, however, keep holding the buttons for a few more seconds. This is a soft reset and will not factory reset your phone.

Galaxy ANot working for me neither. Tried all the "solutions" above. This happened after a software update. Before that the fingerprint was working perfectly. Test is failing. I am almost 100% certain this is a software issue rather than a hardware flaw.
You should change the headline as this is not solving the issue and neither has it been resolved. Coming to the conclusion that you might have a hardware issue is not a solution.

Galaxy AWorked for my Samsung M40 - the fingerprint sensor was not responding. I tried the soft reset procedure, and voila - it's fine now. Thank you!

Galaxy AGo to Settings / Security and privacy / Biometrics / Fingerprints, enter your PIN and press continue. Delete saved fingerprint, probably called fingerprint 1.
Select Add fingerprint and redo fingerprint
This will solve the problem every time

Galaxy AHello Tsogo_sam05,
I formed *#*#0*#*# and did the fingerprint test and i got the following results:
- Product ID: QBT2000
- Module Test: 0
- Sensor ID: LJ9445712AGA1F2E1CA416008D5
- Chip SN: 557
- Firmware Version: 2.0.2.1008
- BGE: 0 (LJ9445712AGA1F2E1CA2290159C)
What got me worried is the Sensor ID and BGE ID, I was told that these two should be the same otherwise that means some parts replacement happened on the phone. I want to know if that is true.
Thanks in advance.

Galaxy AI have the same issues with my fingerprint operation. I observed that it stopped working yesterday. I was advised to restart my device, which I repeated severally. I have used all the tips I read on this platform. None worked. When I carried out the Fingerprint test (by dialing *#0*#), I observed the following: Version ("null"), Normal scan result ("Cannot found Data log!!"). Sensor info (ready).
I went as far as resetting my phone to factory settings, the three registered fingerprints were deleted. However, I could not register new fingerprints. I get the prompt: "Fingerprint sensor not working. If this keeps happening, restart your phone."
I bought this phone new. The screen is working fine. The phone did not fall. Is it possible for the fingerprint hardware to be faulty? How can the issue be resolved, please?
Thanks
