Galaxy ADear Samsung Member,
Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!
As per your query, we want to inform you about an important aspect of using your device as a hotspot for an extended period. When sharing data over a long duration, you may notice that the network switches from 5G to 4G. This change is typically due to the heating of the device.
5G devices are designed to work in conjunction with LTE and 5G networks, providing high-speed processing of large data volumes. However, this performance can lead to increased battery consumption and heat generation compared to LTE devices under similar conditions.
When using your hotspot for internet sharing that requires substantial power over extended periods, the device may heat up. If the temperature reaches a certain threshold, the built-in algorithm to prevent overheating will engage, which may limit the device's maximum performance and prompt a switch to a 4G network.
This response is a normal operational condition designed to assure continuous device performance.
In such cases, we recommend allowing your device to cool down for a period before using it again. Once the device has cooled to a specific temperature, it will reconnect to the 5G network automatically.
Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
