Samsung hasn't completely removed RCS support from Samsung Messages, but it's making some changes. Recently, Samsung announced it's switching to Google Messages as the default messaging app on its phones, starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 l. This move aims to accelerate RCS adoption and provide a more robust messaging experience.

Although Samsung Messages will no longer be the default app, users can still download and use it. Additionally, RCS support will still be available on Samsung Messages, but its availability might depend on your carrier and region.

It's worth noting that Google Messages supports RCS functionality regardless of the carrier, making it a more universal solution.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we want to inform you that Rich Communication Services (RCS) chats offer an enhanced traditional SMS and MMS messaging experience.

1. RCS chats provide an improved messaging experience.
2. Features include seeing when someone is typing, reading receipts, sending messages over mobile data/Wi-Fi, and file sharing.
3. RCS chats require all participants to have RCS enabled and are provided by either Google or the user's mobile carrier.

● Follow the below steps to enable the RSC message.
Step 1: Run your Android Message app and tap on the More Options icon.
Step 2: Tap on “Settings” and, on the new screen, select the “Chat features” option.
Step 3: Tap on “Enable chat features” and select the “RCS” option.

If the issue persists, kindly report the problems with a log file. To share a log file, Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on send feedback> Choose Composer> Select error report> select the appropriate issue category> Type your query and send.

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
