Galaxy A50s dual band wifi

Despite the phone supporting dual band wifi, surprisingly; my routers 5ghz does not show in the phone wifi options. Infact, it connects to the 2.4 ghz instead. 

The 5ghz function is activated and visibility is checked from Router settings. But its not showing in Phone. 

How I can resolve this and connect to 5ghz connection?

That's surprising as when I had A50s, I could connect to 5Ghz band. Check if this issue is with only A50s or other phones also.

I have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz activated on my router but the phone's not showing the 5ghz ☹️☹️

That's really strange, please check with any other mobile if you have.
If that mobile is able to detect then problem is clearly with your A50s.
Try network settings reset

Setttings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network settings
