Go to Menu > Settings > Battery and look for the Fast cable charging option. If it's not enabled, make sure you tap on the toggle and turn it on. After this, plug in the phone with the original charger and see if Fast Charging is working properly now. If it doesn't, try restarting the phone and plug it in again.Use the following ways to troubleshoot battery drainage issue.

1Check whether Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC/S Beam, Tethering and Portable Hotspot is turned on when not in use.

2Check whether the Brightness of the device is set to minimum or not.

3Smart Features in Flagship phones like Motion UI, Smart Stay, Air Gestures, Screen Mirroring etc will drain battery considerably.

4Check Power Saving Mode (If available)

5Auto Sync of E-mails, App data etc will drain battery.

6Multiple Applications running in back ground will drain battery power.

7Check the Network Mode as 4G Network mode will drain more battery compared to 2G/2.5G/3G mode.

8Network Fluctuation also drains battery.

9Minimizing the back-light time would save battery.

10Follow the standard charging procedure (i.e. charge a fully discharge battery in Switch-off mode up to 150 mins.)

11Periodic Software Update through FOTA or Smart Switch is intended to improve the battery life as well.

You can maximize the battery back up by following few points :

● Make sure that your phone is completely charged whenever you charge it. To get the best out of your battery.

● Make sure, Wifi is turned off when not in use.

● Turn off GPS when not in use.

● Turn ON the Power Saving option in settings.

● Turn off your Mobile data like 3G or 2G when not in use.

● Keep an eye on where your battery is consumed with the help of Battery Option in Settings as shown above in the pic.

● There is a probability that your Android firmware may be malfunctioning. Update or Re-install your firmware to get over with battery issues.

NOTE :

● These points are applicable to most of the Samsung smartphones running on Jelly bean 4.1 and above based Android System.

● The settings and options can change in due course of time, please refer to your user manual for more details.
