Hello Members

Want to request you all to take 2 mins to read below and share your view-point on a few things.

As part of a campaign to encourage our Members community to share their hobbies and passions, we have asked BAs to start the conversation by sharing their own hobbies, passions and other non-tech topics.

Some active users have expressed that they feel this content is not relevant. This in OK, as long as the discussion remains civil. Many users have participated in this discussion properly.

But out of these, some (like darkvarder1) have taken things too far (example of a comment below)

Avinav_0-1593408779523.png

  • Users like this take every opportunity to blame Moderators when they get banned. But they are openly threatening other users who are completely minding their own business.
  • They feel that communicating via memes is an effective mode of giving feedback, where many users and BAs are actively using the feedback section, sending error logs and participating in Beta programs.
  • They keep inciting others to fight with them on other channels like twitter and discord.

Do users like this represent you and your attitude towards your fellow Members?

Want to take your opinion on below 3 things -

1. Should users like this be entertained, or be removed with zero tolerance towards violent threats?

2. Do you mind the occasional off-topic threads on the Members community?

3. Do these threads make it difficult for you to find other relevant content? If yes, Would you prefer if there was a different sub-forum for such off-topic threads?

Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback!

Your information is completely wrong, no such action has been taken against any BA. I introduced the BA program in 2018 and have been running it since. Nothing like this has happened.
At our events we encourage everyone to use and create content with their Galaxy devices, which I am sure is understandable.

Im sorry you feel this way. You are a valuable member of the community! I will share your feedback with R&D team as well.

wow man... so much hypocrisy

if you think it is in the wrong subforum and you feel you can not ignore it, try having a conversation without being judgmental or accusatory. Not everyone shares the EXACT same ideas as you

you could have done the same with the person whose screenshot you shared in the community and insulted him.

that guy is getting threat calls and messages because of you.
thats the potential direct threat. what action will you take now?

I prefer both, option 1 and 3.

I prefer option 1 just because I don't like such type of off-topic threads as you've shown in the screenshot above and I prefer such posts to be removed with Zero tolerance in case of violent threats.

I would also prefer option 3, as it would be great if there was a different sub-forum for off-topic but it must be within limits and of course if there are no separate Off-Topic sub-forum, users in Samsung Members may post off-topic related posts in various sub-forums or sections in the Samsung Members app and it would obviously make it difficult for us to find other relevant content.

I don't prefer Option 2 in any way.

So yeah! That's my opinion.

Hi ,

1 . Zero Tolerance 👍 good.

Is it really implemented all over community or is this only the case (see uploaded pic )

I don't feel safe here anymore.

my account got Banned without any reason and when i report something like this you just ignored.

This is long time going but I'm glad you bought it up.... I also feel you being Impartial (allegedly) reflects by your actions not by just One post or One ban .

I see that the comment is wrong in all ways possible.

I Also Bring Out The point everyone is talking about BA's.

Add a separate sections for those BA contests and why can't you run it in contest section like Photography Contest.

2 Definitely Off Topic or Something like that is needed 👍

3 same things as 2

* Acknowledge That The user Repents his actions and asked you to reconsider your ban .

reasons why you should acknowledge that

1 His point was right although his expression was wrong.

2 He did what others are not able to say loudly ...
Pointed out Those Strongly
[This post says ]

You even made a example out of Him ... (Not very Humble)

*I'm not posting or getting into others post's , image is from my own post and have seen lot like these in this forum.

* Please Consider Accepting Others Opinion too... your feedback back accepted your own way of things.
[Not against it, those are good points but would be nice if you credited the contributors to those points]

Points taken. Thanks for sharing. This was highlighted because it was also strongly brought to my attention. BAs do have a direct channel to community managers. Also, user was not banned, but this was highlighted so we can have discussion about such behavior on community.
To your screenshot, objectionable content is obviously not accepted. This was highlighted as a threat. We should have zero tolerance towards all.

Cool👍

Waiting for that off topic section.

I agree that BAs have access to community manager in all good ways but the Normal/Other user's requests and concerns could be taken note.

[Also that is no excuse for that BA contest flood in community]

hope you don't pin those too.
[just kidding 😅]

Since Your Noting Points. Here i give you Few more

1
I'm waiting for Other contest Results Like Techfluencer remaining topics and others.

2
Make A separate Elite* Section for BA's where Pinning of Thier post's isn't necessary (or) something like curated content by Experts/BA's in their respective Fields.

[Example: take a post as submission verify it and Approve/Decline it]

3
Have a Roasting session with User's (I'm serious, but have it in a funny way 😃).
Roasting Can be Helpful to make community better place (personal opinion)

4
I'm Glad You replied back but , would be helpful if other Admin's or community heads reply to users from time to time.
(waiting on update of common recognized issues -Post by ShivZen)

5
Please Partially Blur Personal details, Hateful Words, or Abusive Language in the post . Or a Content Warning would also be suffice .

[Also reference to personal details being Leaked]

-Thank you for your time and effort for this, Also to one's who bought this strongly to your attention.

1. Violent threats to fellow Members shouldn't be tolerated. Such users should be removed and banned immediately. Losing a Member hurts, but sometimes it doesn't!

2. As long as the topic relates to the Samsung brand in some way, it's fine. Photography contests, or ones personal experience with Samsung brand are interesting "off-topics". We are a family, after all.

3. There's already the "Others" sub-forum. The #BASuperLeague contest posts were made on this sub-forum. We can always make such off-topic posts here, so why need one more similar sub-forum?

Rather, we can provide Members with guides on how to use Samsung Members efficiently. Some Members may not be knowing that they can filter posts by device series, or type.
