I was experiencing the same thing. Animation became jittery and performance as well as battery got poor. Factory reset solved it all for me. Now, it's smooth like butter and battery performance is really good.
Final Update:After doing a factory reset and restoring all the data back to the device, I am finally experiencing the smoothness that was promised.No stutter no lagging. Everything is super responsive and very elegant.
