WhatsApp Data Size 1GB

Hi,

Can someone tell why my WhatsApp application taking so much storage.

Check this folder.
I usually delete its contents.

i do that every alternate day. the issue still persists

Then may be the media folder.

yes. the size of media folder is 291 mb only

SOLUTION- Deleted 1 lacs plus messages. Though chat seems minor but occupies lot of space in App.
i haven't deleted the media though. still app size reduced considerably
