Samsung Phone App claims to show messages in the app itself, but upon granting the required permission, there's no change in the UI. Regarding the Messages icon up there, well it works even without the SMS permission. How to see Messages in the Phone App itself? {BTW Samsung won't even let me see old call logs if SMS permission isn't granted, along with a bunch of other permissions (which I found for what they were being used for), so I had to give that anyway}.

May be this number doesn't have any message.

Or open Dialer app then click on recent tab and then tap on 3 dots then click on show message.
