Hi Friends,

Today , I was checking my mother's Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and in sms app I got pop messages stating enable chat features. I accepted, clicked Ok and after few minutes, got another message stating chat features are enabled for Jio number.

Though default Samsung Messages app on my Note 10 Lite has settings for chat features , it doesn't work. So I downloaded Google Messages app and activated chat features.
Tested few things like typing indicator, sending images, location, recording and all worked well.

As of now working with Jio and Google Messages app. Also other person whom you are sending should also have Chat enabled on his/her phone.

If other person doesn't have chat/RCS enabled then normal SMS (text) message is sent.

Remember this is based on RCS standard which is kind of future of SMS, MMS.

I had used this on my LG V30+ few months back using some tricks shared on XDA forums.

Google has started pushing for greater implementation of this now with RCS rolled out on many operators and phones. With this we can use native messaging apps with some functionality of WhatsApp, telegram ,others.
I hope Samsung quickly fixes issues of RCS with their own messages app.

Please check on your phones by downloading Google Messages app. I tested with Jio but may be it's also supported on Airtel , Vi also.
