It’s a lake of ideas in our community. But the good thing is, we are all ears for more suggestions to craft your experience better. Let’s make the Galaxy community the most interesting place to hang out. Bring in your recommendations through the Innovation Lab. 

While Samsung DeX and Second Screen are at the frontier of making work flow effortless.

Here’s what you should know before you proceed with your entries.

Samsung DeX (Desktop Experience), a software tool that enhances your experience by offering the

following capabilities:

1. Productivity: Transforms your Galaxy device¹ into a PC, with a desktop-like experience.
2. Connectivity: Supports wireless connection compatible with TVs and monitors², as well as wired connections via DeX cable or HDMI cable.
3. Multitasking: Allows you to multitask, run multiple apps, and utilize productivity apps like Powerpoint³.
4. Control: You can control DeX with your Galaxy device¹ as a touchpad or on-screen keyboard.
5. Keyboards and mice: Supports wired, wireless, and Bluetooth USB keyboards and mice.
6. Modes: Offers two modes - New DeX and Classic DeX. New DeX maintains the tablet's⁴ UI, while Classic DeX provides a desktop environment.

¹DeX is available on Galaxy S9, S10, S20, S21, S22, S23, S24, Note8, Note9, Note10, Note20, Z Fold3, Z Fold4, and Z Fold5, Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 series phones

²Samsung DeX wireless connection is supported with TVs that support Android smart phone screen mirroring(Miracast) only.

On the other hand, Samsung's Second Screen allows you to extend your computer screen to your

Galaxy tablet enabling the following:

1. Duplicate the computer screen on the tablet
2. Control the computer from the tablet
3. Use the tablet as an extended monitor
4. Switch between duplicate or extended display modes
5. Allow mouse, keyboard, touch, and pen input from the tablet
6. Pin or unpin the toolbar for easy access
7. Disconnect the connection when finished

This feature is compatible with Galaxy Tab S7, S8, and S9 running One UI 3.1 or later and select PCs with Wireless Display running Windows 10 version 2004 or higher.

1. Dex Multi-monitor support is a must for a real productivity machine!

2. Second screen should work on mobiles and in all directions (Windows to tablet or phone, phone to tablet or Windows and tablet to phone or Windows).

Hi,

I'm having a couple of issues with DeX mode:

1. Each time I connect via DeX to the TV, I need to manually set the audio output to the TV.

2. When DeX is connected to the TV and I wake it up with the mouse, it also turns on the screen on my device.

Enhance mouse drivers to make mouse on Nexdock / UPerfect lapdock more natural

Ideas/suggestion

I have a suggestion, There's a new use case now for The productivity/multitasking side of the Samsung Dex mode. Please make it compatible with AR/XR/MR glasses like the glasses that mirror the smartphone screens from XReal, Viture, Rokid. Using Samsung Dex with AR/XR/MR glasses (for special computing, or just extending multiple apps to virtual screens) its amazing but they're missing functionality because it's not natively supported.

Just imagine being able to put on glasses via USBC and Samsung Dex populates multiple Screens where you can use ANY of your apps In AR/MR while working on something at a coffee shop, or watching videos while typing up a word document inside of a plane, on a bus, in a train, . Currently you can only do one screen since it just mirrors the phone screen (we would like at least 3) and there are no "Spacial Computing Features"  like shrinking and zooming the panel or sticking it somewhere in the corner your vision. Please Please Please check out my suggestion. This could be huge and the next big evolution to Samsung Dex since those glasses are just virtual monitors that you can take everywhere on the go and they're ultra light unlike real big laptop sized portable monitors.

Maybe Samsung can even take it a step further and either develop their own glasses or work together with one of these brands above to promote an evolution in Samsung Dex. If you go on Reddit a majority of these Virtual glasses users are Samsung Users who use Dex with them. It's an unexplored area Samsung should look into

Build in rdp remote software for windows in the Dex which is smoother than the android app, and closer to the windows rdp software, and support 4k.

Please work with Logitech to bring Logi Options+ to Samsung TV, so that there is better integration of Keyboard and Mouse while using Dex with Samsung TV.

I really love samsung dex but there are some things which should be improved, like support for more keyboard shortcuts, like windows.
More customisation options for notification panel.
If user clicks on close button it should close it completely some of the apps just minimize or stay in memory.
Also in classic dex mode if the whole app drawer can be revamped as the current version looks very cramped.
Lastly improving the samsung internet browser as it gets slow if you have more number of tabs in compare to other browsers
