Earlier, to access the recovery mode or to access clear partition cache / hard reset through keys was direct i.e. switch off the phone and then hold power key + volume up key. But now it cannot be done directly.
New process - Turn off your phone and then connect it to laptop or PC through USB and then use the same keys i.e. Power Key + Volume up key to access the recovery mode.
Just thought to share, as I was trying previous method which was not working and then I came to know about the new method. Hope it will be helpful to all who were unaware of this process. At least I was unaware of this change in the method.
