Tab S7 Plus Keyboard case Function keys Issue

I want to change the default function of the Function keys(F1 to F12) from function keys to media/control keys.

Currently user have to presss and hold th 'Fn key' in combination to use the media function of the keys.

Almost no one ever use the Fn key, whereas the media keys are easily one of the most needed keys so why have samsung defaulted the key function to function keys.

Please give us a setting to change the function as it is present in most of the windows laptops since a 7-8 years.

I've bought tab S7+ directly from samsung which bundle with touchpadless keyboard indicated that can be used with S7+/S7 FE. It's genuine samsung keyboard.

I can locked-unlocked Fn key with press&hold it for 5s but no message show, while someone use it with S7 FE told me there's message "Fn Locked" "Fn Unlocked" when release button(after hold). May be firmware issue but it works for me like that. Now I keep it as Fn locked so I can use media keys without holding Fn key.

Just to emphasize, on a S8+ tablet with the original keyboard cover, the 5s trick worked. I get a message saying: "Fn Key Locked" and it changes the behavior as expected. Hopefully there's a way to make it work for you too, as I understand how frustrating this can be.

I find it strange that you have this ability, as my S7+ with OG keyboard cover does not do this. I imagine they're running almost the exact same software, but don't know why this doesn't not work with mine. Strange that the S7FE and the S8+ do work, though... I think this function should be emphasized or at least mentioned in the user manual. Frustrating indeed.

I see lots of people posting that this 5s key truck worked for them, but it's always for a different tablet, the FE, the s8, etc., than what the thread is supposed to be about. I don't think I've seen a single post that showed this works with the s7+. I have the S7+ and it's keyboard cover. Has anyone got function lock to work on the tab S6+?

Thanks, just got the keyboard cover today, and this drove me nuts, but pressing it for 5 seconds worked like a charm.

I have ordered the book cover keyboard with a touch bar for the galaxy tab. s7+ and it was delivered yesterday. Gonna try this trick. I hope it will work. Thank's  :)

Greetings from Brazil. I bought a S8+ tablat that came with the Samsung Keyboard. The 5s trick worked really fine and solved the issue! Thanks for sharing, this is very usefull information!

5s thing totally didn't work for me. I have a S7+ with three keyboard. Wonder if there's something wrong with this keyboard.
