There is no way to remove it without formatting.
First of all DO NOT restart the phone as it will lock the device and you will have to enter pattern to unlock it. Next do a backup of everything in SD Card or PC using Samsung Switch app/pc software then format the device using your Samsung account password if you have an account logged in otherwise try hard resetting it. Alternatively you can go to service centre and they'll format it by reinstalling the firmware. In my case I needed to enter the pattern even after reinstall the firmware luckily I am not formatting my phone because of forgotten pattern. So you have to take the risk.

Turn on wifi and connect to any previously connected wifi then from another samsung phone open find my mobile from samsung in settings and unlock from there.
I also have this device I had forgotten 2-3 tines due to very big password and I had done the above process
