Is custom rom safe ? for S6 edge plus

I think there is no chance to receive oreo update for my S6 edge plus ! So, my freind told me to use a custom rom for it. Is it good or bad ? Do I have to face new bugs and troubles when I update my phone to Custom Rom? Does it safe safe for my phone ?

Yes. If the custom ROM is official, and is not ported from other devices, It won't have any bugs. But, you'll face bugs if you'll install the unofficial roms.

installing custom roms can trip your knox ....

as 7 said, you will lose all "secured" feature of your phone. ie. samsung pay, knox or secure folder and such.. but flashing custom rom is fun.
