Which model do you have?? If your Galaxy device support GoodLock app than you can customize homescreen in vertical.
So if your device support GoodLock than open it and Install a required module named 'Home Up'. After installed home up open and access the Home Screen menu. Now, tap Apps List and choose the number of columns.Finally, activate Apps List and enjoy Vertical homescreen.
