"So... you're okay with this marriage, right? I don't want it to be forced..."
To which she replied with a bright smile. "You're the one I wanna be with... and I respect our elders' decision."
I guess that's when I fell for her. Her confidence, the brightness in her, all of it. But... What happened now? Did I lack somewhere?
"We had a kid." Her voice rang through my head. Right. Her kid. But we had kids too... didn't we?
"They'll be your kids soon enough."
Argh... my head hurt, the tears had stopped and she was gone. I looked around the mess and picked a piece of the vase bringing it near to my wrist. I closed my eyes and--
I couldn't.
Ha! Such a failure. I looked at the reflection of mine on the piece... My cheek was swollen. 'What would the kids think?...'
Immediately after the thought hit me I stood up and looked at the clock - it was 4 a.m. Thankfully, the kids were in the innermost room of the first floor while we-- I was near the front door.
They were still fast asleep, I checked. Brushing away all the thoughts, for the moment, I got up and cleaned the mess, prepared breakfast for my angels and took a bath.
7:00 a.m.
"Say ah, baby~" I fed the little one who'd just turned eleven months while my three-year-old showed me how good she was at holding the spoon now.
"Pa~ look! I hold good!" Her cuteness made me giggle.
"Wow, my angel~" I gave her a peck on the forehead. These kids make my day. I forgot everything that had happened this morning.
As soon as I was finished feeding them we heard a knock at the door. I stood up holding the tiny one in my arms while the elder held my pinky.
We knew who our guest was. Every Sunday my parents would visit us since they lived just half an hour away.
"Pa~ hurry! Big Pa is here! I look angel, right?" She cupped her face and asked me. And as if asking me to hurry, the younger brother exclaimed in his baby language. They had me chuckling.
