Hey, since updating my Flip5, the power button's stopped working! The screen's totally blank, and a long press just brings up Bixby. The screen did turn on briefly while I was recording a video, showing the UI frozen – it looks like Samsung's software isn't optimized well enough for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

At Samsung, we always aim to provide impeccable services to our customers, and we highly regret that you feel this way.

Please follow these easy troubleshooting steps which may help in resolving this issues.

1. Galaxy device UI stopping issue: ● Kindly change the Wallpaper and theme of the device. Advise you to choose wallpaper available in a ‘Featured’ section of the wallpaper setting.

● Navigation Path to Change Wallpaper: Long Touch at Home Screen > Wallpaper and Style > -Change Wallpaper > Apply Any Wallpaper in Featured Section.

● Navigation Path to Change Theme: Long Touch at Home Screen > Themes > Apply themes available at Galaxy Themes.

Galaxy device touch not working issue: ● Kindly check if the device's touch screen is physically damaged: The phone touch screen could stop working due to physical damage.

● Physical damage: The touch screen is broken or damaged. High temperature, cold, moisture, magnets, and static electricity can all damage the touchscreen of Android phones. If your screen is damaged, you need to carry your device with its ''original accessories'' to the ''Samsung authorized service centre''.
If your screen is not damaged, Restart the phone by pressing the Power button and then tap on Restart.
Note: If you use the Fingerprint security feature, the phone will require your backup password to unlock after rebooting.

● Review touchscreen tips and tricks. Certain factors may affect how well the touchscreen on your device performs. Please keep the following in mind when using the touchscreen:

•If a third-party screen protector or accessory is attached, the touchscreen may not work properly. In particular, it may not work well if there is dust or air under the protector, if two or more protective films are attached to the screen, or if the protective film is peeling near the edge of the screen. Remove the screen protector or film if it is peeling or has debris underneath it. If you are keeping the screen protector or film, you can enable the touch sensitivity option to help with taps and touches. Open Settings, then tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity.

•The touchscreen may not work properly if you wear gloves, have dust on your finger, or touch the screen with fingernails or a ballpoint pen. It may also not work if a conductive object, such as a coin or key, is close to the screen.

•If the screen is wet, the touch sensor may not work properly. Even for waterproof models, some touch functions may not work if the product is used in water. Gently wipe the front and back of your device using a lint-free, soft microfiber cleaning cloth or a camera lens cleaning cloth. Do not apply too much pressure when cleaning the device.

•If you are having issues with the S Pen, refer to our S Pen troubleshooting.

● Restart your device. Restarting your device can help solve minor issues. Restarting will vary depending on the model:

•On devices with a Power button: Press and hold the Power button, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.
•On devices with a Side button: Using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel. Tap the Power icon, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.

If the touchscreen is not working at all, you can restart your device by pressing and holding the Volume down button and the Power button (or Side button) simultaneously for 10 seconds. Tap Restart, and then tap Restart again to confirm. Once it turns off, you can turn your device back on by pressing the Power button or Side button again.

● Check your charger. If your charger is damaged, it may not supply power to your device, which may cause the touch screen to malfunction. In this case, use a different, undamaged charger to prevent this issue. It’s also a good idea to avoid using the touchscreen when the device is charging.

Note: To complete Steps 4 through 6, you can try connecting your device to a computer or monitor. This will allow you to navigate the device even if the touchscreen isn’t working.

● Disable gestures: When using the full screen gesture function, touch input may not be possible because the touch is recognized as a gesture. To stop this from happening, disable the full screen gesture function. Open Settings, tap Display and then tap Navigation bar. Tap Buttons to disable full screen gestures.

● Disable Touch sensitivity: If the Touch sensitivity setting is turned on when no protective film is used, the touchscreen may respond too sensitively and therefore malfunction. To disable the Touch sensitivity feature, navigate to Settings, tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity to turn it off.

● Update device software (If available): Settings > Software update > Download and install > Checking for software update > Software update available > Download > Downloading updates > Install now.

● Perform a factory data reset. Resetting your device to factory defaults should only be used as a last resort and after trying the previous steps. A factory data reset will remove all data and content from your device. Before performing a factory reset, be sure to back up your personal data, so you don't lose it all.

Path: Navigate to and open Settings, then tap General management, and then tap Reset. Tap Factory data reset, then swipe to and tap Reset, and then tap Delete all. Enter your Samsung account credentials to complete the reset; your device will reset, and you will need to perform the initial setup process.

If the issue still occurs, please visit the service centre for a physical inspection of your device. You can locate your nearest service centre with this given link: https://www.samsung.com/in/support/service-center/

Warm Regards,

It sounds like you may have a hardware or software issue with your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. If you are unable to resolve the issue on your own, you may want to contact Samsung support for assistance.
Here are some general troubleshooting steps that you can try:
* Restart your phone: This may seem like an obvious step, but it can often resolve minor software glitches. To restart your phone, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power off menu appears. Then, tap "Restart."
* Check for software updates: Make sure that your phone is running the latest version of Samsung's software. To check for updates, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
* Safe mode: This will temporarily disable third-party apps, which can help you determine if one of them is causing the problem. To boot into safe mode, press and hold the power button until the power off menu appears. Then, tap and hold "Power off" until the phone restarts in safe mode.
* Factory reset: This is a more drastic measure, but it can be helpful if you are still having problems. Before you do a factory reset, be sure to back up any important data on your phone. To factory reset your phone, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
If you have tried these troubleshooting steps and are still having problems, you may want to contact Samsung support for assistance.

I perform daily software and app store updates and restart my phone every other day. However, this issue is intermittent and seems less prevalent when I'm outdoors.
