I wanted to reset my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 from recovery mode. I needed information about 2 things

1. How to enter recovery mode? I tried to power off device then plug in the charging cable, pressed volume up and power key for a long time. But it entered the system and not recovery mode. So please let me know if i am doing anything wrong.

2. Will my eSIM be deleted if I reset from recovery mode? If i reset from system, it has the option of not deleting the saved eSIM. (Screenshot attached). What about doing it from recovery?

This will delet your esim. If you don't select esim to be deleted, reset button will not work.

And 1st press volume down+ power key for 10 sec, then prem volume up+ power key,no need to power off the device for this.

Your device needs to be connected to pc using a usb cable .. after that follow the steps and you'll be able to enter recovery mode

1. Connect your phone to a PC/Laptop. No need of drivers, so long as it is connected, that is all that matters. Then power off and use the Power+Vol UP combination.

2. Yes, if you reset the device from recovery, it will erase all eSIM data. If you want to keep eSIM data, just reset from settings, its essentially the same thing, with an added advantage.
