Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphone feature more durable hinge compared to their predecessors. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 passed various durability tests, and videos revealed a newer Samsung hinge system, featuring a narrower gap, but reports of hinge breaking have started to emerge.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with a starting price tag of $999, but, still has less durability, as reported by a group of users on the web. According to users, the hinge of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone is breaking (disjointed) even without minimal drops.

Spotted by PiunikaWeb, some Galaxy Z Flip 4 users believe that Samsung’s new hinge design got failed in durability than the previous iteration, making the foldable smartphone weaken. With just a quite minimal drop, the hinge of the device got damaged, hinting the internal joint has been broken.

Adding to this, the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s hinge is disjointed even after it was protected with a hinge protection strap and an armored cover, as cited by users. A user even claimed that he dropped the Galaxy Z Flip 3 but it has no problem even after a year, while, it’s not the same case with it's successor.

As the owner of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 shown in the video, the device’s hinge got badly damaged, internally. The phone is not opening at over about a 90-degree angle due to internal damage to the hinge, and the screen will badly break the sides if the phone gets forcefully unfolded.

Not sure whether it’s a manufacturing defect or a flaw in the new hinge system that debuted with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Samsung should look into the matter and help buyers fix the broken hinge of their $999 foldable smartphone alongside thinking about further durability improvements.

Happened to me too. Never dropped the phone. Mint conditions. Sent to Samsung. They wanted almost $400 for the repair of the phone that was 32 days old. Hours spend on the phone. Twiiter and Facebook communications led to nothing. They offered $150 off. I refused. Eventually agreed to fix for free. I know that in USA one way or another I'd have them take responsibility for the damage part/product they sold. So bad. No accountability. Lies. Terrible service. I am done with them. Next mobile device will be from a different manufacturer that at least provide adequate support, knowledge and adhere to a contract (warranty). Shame on Samsung

• Hi this is so right my Samsung Z 4 flip hinges broke and sent it back too Samsung for repairs theirs saying cos the hinges have marked the case at hinges the warranty is void if Samsung treat their customers like this cos off the problem.... do not buy this phone Samsung will rip you off after many people having the same problem am going too sue Samsung,   the people who repair the phones said my phone is mint condition like new just marks where the hinges open and close am disappointed and not happy with the way their treat customers it's a common fault with this phone 3 people I know who bought this have got the same problems like mine don't buy this phone waste off money buy iPhone they have better customers service

same thing happened with me... within use of 4 months flip 4 hinges started creating problems and screen got damaged due this.

same thing happened with me, and samsung cs has blamed me( user of the phone) and have stopped giving any support , phone is hostage for over a month now.

what can i do pls help
