I previously had s20+ and recently got my s23+ but seems like s20+ had better colors than s23+ which is post three generation model. I checked it very carefully with other phones as well if you compare like galaxy fold etc. The colors there are more vivid and better looking. I even compared s23 ultra with s22 ultra and fold as well all previous generation phones had better colors than s23. (from Samsung store, I even asked the store guy and he couldn't amswer this but admit that previous gen had better colors). The difference is so much that when I side by side put s20+ and s23+, it feel s20+ is the newer phone and s23+ is older.

is this the reason because
Galaxy S23 uses OLED screen with new materials for higher power efficiency (https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s23-oled-new-materials-higher-power-efficiency/#:~:text=Accord....)

Then this is a major drawback for the whole s23 lineup and I am so not happy with this screen quality downgrade and would like to return my s23+.
- What do you guys think could be the reason?
- Can this be rectified in further updates
- What if they are not able to rectify since they have used new technology for display?

I have used all the possible settings and screen is on Vivid mode.

but I dont see any option to turn on this booster, all I see is "extra brightness" option which also enabled couldn't compete with s20+ at all. Even harsh lighting the colors are better in s20+. A clear winner - s20+ here

Kudos to have better colors in s20+ because I'm user of too but bro talking about vision booster is completely mentioned by samsung official s23 ultra intro that its automatically adjust colors and contrast based on surroundings so bro don't compare it because it helps your eye too and yeah not having as a feature toggle that can be disable.

One thing I've noticed samsung old flagship display tend to have more vivid colors that leads a eye fatigue but now samsung display do not fatigue to eye even in nights.
So bro don't get panic you're flagship user no such comparison have with your phone's display in 2023.🙂

Still I use to love that screen type so Samsung should at least give an option to enable and disable it.

Display colors are less saturated than my "old" s9+. Due to my personal issues, I couldn't return s23 in 14 days. I don't know what to do. Samsung disappointed many loyal customers with this display.

edit: under setting, display mode and vivid, i set the white setting to cold and under that, in advanced setting i maximized the blue color and minimized red and green. it looks better i suppose

Absolutely true. I was waiting for may update. Thought might fix it but no difference. Just washed out feel all the time. They need to put some one in charge to make it caliberated well. Also the white balance slider is not easy to understand and they should give color preset for those who just want to toggle between. I dont know what im feeling rtn.. i spend alot of money and samsung gave me a bad display. I hope all the **** youtubers go to hell for saying only good thing about the display. Samsung should should do something via OTA update. Im not going to return it and goin to use for the next 4 years. Hope they do something... But im already burned out by now for waiting and waiting for dispaly update fix.

Just a trick: Turn Adaptive Eye comfort shield on. It makes little close to previous displays. But not like it was.
