Then tap settings

Then scroll down and and you will see navigation settings

Then under navigation setting turn the map display to night

Thus you get dark mode in maps

all I am saying is the pls mentions things like its officially arable or not ??? and how does it work. give proper info so user can understand it proper, everyone is not a pro user like you. in a way this is misleading of information. no hard feeling, I really like some of your posts as they are legit and you got proper reasons to that.

this was available when system dark mode was not even rolled out. from the begging google maps used to switch between colour schemes for day and night based on the time. the method you are tell will show night all the time so when you start the navigation you will have dark theme and on top of that if you force dark mode you will have it but we don't have official system based dark mode for maps till date
