WhatsApp error - Solution required

In WhatsApp when I'm on the status tab I'm unable to see the statuses of my friends because I'm being prompted the following error message "Sorry this media file doesn't exist on your internal storage"

might you have moved your whatsapp file to sd card get it back to internal storage.
