The Smart View feature makes it very easy to display your phone’s screen on your TV. If you have any problems using Smart View, please follow the guide below.

Before you try the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

1 Go to Settings > Software update.

2 Tap on Download and install.

3 Follow the on-screen instructions.

Check 1. Connect your phone and TV on the same network
Your phone should be connected to the same network as your smart TV. Follow the steps below to check that the same Wi-Fi connection is being used.

1 Swipe down from the top of your phone’s screen to open the Quick panel.

2 Touch and hold the Wi-Fi icon to open your device's Wi-Fi settings.

3 Here you can make sure you are connected to the correct network and change it if necessary.

Check 2. Allow permission on the TV
If your TV requires permission, you need to select Allow on TV.

1 Tap the Smart View icon on the Quick panel.
2 Select your TV.

Check 3. Update your Smart TV's software
Make sure your TV's software is up to date. If you have a Samsung Smart TV, check for available software updates from the settings menu.

1Navigate to Settings, and then select Support.

2 Select Software Update, and then select Update Now.

3 If there are new updates, the updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit.
Note:
Do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically.
Depending on the TV model, the path to software updates may vary.

Check 4. Adjust the screen ratio on your phone
If the image on your phone looks too small on the TV’s screen, you can adjust the aspect ratio in Smart View. On your phone, tap the blue Smart View icon, then tap the Phone aspect ratio. You can choose the settings you want here.

Check 5. Perform a Factory data reset on your phone
If the above methods do not work, you may bring your device back to factory default settings just like when you powered on your device for the first time. Please note that factory resetting a mobile device is not reversible. Please make sure all your information is saved to a backup somewhere else before attempting to reset your phone.

1Go to Settings > General management.

2Tap on Reset > Factory data reset.

3Scroll down the page and select Reset.

4Select Delete all.

Note:

Smart View can be used with Galaxy phones running Android 4.3 or above and with devices that support Miracast.
