S24 Ultra 1TB to S25 Ultra 1TB
Hello fellow members,i had 597 GB worth of data to copy this year from the S24 Ultra to the S25 Ultra.
I usually copy through the cable andusing an SSD if needed, but before i got the 1TB variant, the SSD was not always needed.
This year, with theWifi 6 router and both devices compatible, i started the Smartswitch on both devices,the app came a long way since its introduction and became so easy to use and seamless, i just scanned the QR code on the new phone, using the old phone, and was given the choice to choose between cable or wifi data transfer.
I went with Wifi, knowing that my videos and photos are 390GB in size, so i excluded them from the transfer. It only took 1 Hour and 10 Minutes start to finish, for the phone to copy all the data from one device to the other, including arranging the data and files on the new device!
Then, i connected my Samsung T7 SSD to the S24 Ultra, and copied the Android folder as it is with all the data in it, as well as all the photos and videos.
Once the data was copied to the SSD, I pasted it in my S25 Ultra.
I posted below the video showing the insane speed. If you have an SSD, or you're able to invest in a decent one, this is a perfect swift and quick method to copy/store large files without the need to wait for hours, as the smart switch indicated that copying everything over cable/wifi will take between 3.5 to 5 hours. PS: the Sandisk SSD keeps on disconnecting from the Samsung phones i have, i never faced issues with Samsung models like the T5 and T7.
By doing the above, 1 hour and 10 minutes over Wifi, and less than 1 hour using the SSD were all it took to copy almost 600GB as well as making the S25 Ultra ready to use, and a perfect exact copy of my old S24 Ultra.
