I'm using Galaxy24Ultra from a month now, I feel the face unlock works slow and in low light it never recognizes the face like iPhone. iPhone works like charm even in pitch dark. Anyone facing the issue like me or any help is appreciated.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra's face unlock feature uses a 2D facial recognition system, which can be less accurate than the iPhone's 3D Face ID system, especially in low-light conditions.

Here are some reasons why the iPhone's Face ID might be outperforming the Galaxy S24 Ultra's face unlock:

1. *3D facial mapping*: Face ID uses a 3D infrared camera to map the user's face, providing a more secure and accurate form of facial recognition. In contrast, the Galaxy S24 Ultra's face unlock uses a 2D camera.
2. *Advanced sensors*: Face ID has a dedicated dot projector, flood illuminator, and infrared camera, which work together to provide accurate facial recognition even in low-light conditions.
3. *Machine learning algorithms*: Face ID uses advanced machine learning algorithms to improve its accuracy and adapt to changing lighting conditions.

To improve the face unlock experience on your Galaxy S24 Ultra:

1. *Ensure proper face registration*: Make sure you've registered your face correctly, following the on-screen instructions.
2. *Use the "Face unlock with brightness" option*: Go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Face recognition > Face unlock with brightness. This option can help improve face unlock accuracy in low-light conditions.
3. *Adjust the screen brightness*: Increasing the screen brightness can help the camera detect your face more accurately.
4. *Use alternative biometric options*: If face unlock is not working reliably, consider using fingerprint recognition or iris scanning as alternative biometric authentication methods.

Keep in mind that while the Galaxy S24 Ultra's face unlock might not be as accurate as the iPhone's Face ID, it's still a convenient and relatively secure biometric authentication method.

Dust,smudges,grease,stains can hamper recognition.
Wipe the area clean.
Screen guard can hamper quick and light touch detection.
Remove screen guard and try.
Re register finger prints.
Increase touch sensitivity

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we would request you to kindly perform the following steps to resolve your issue.

● If you are having difficulty unlocking with Face recognition, try the face registration again.

● Glasses, hats, masks, makeup, bangs, and beards can affect the recognition process. Adding an alternative look can help the device recognize you in different situations.

● Make sure you are in a well-lit area and the camera lens is clean.

● For best results, make sure your image is not blurry.

● Face recognition is less secure than Pattern, PIN, or Fingerprint.

● Keep in mind your device can be unlocked by someone that looks similar to you (such as a twin)

● If you are having difficulty unlocking with Face recognition, try the face registration again. Remove the current face data by opening Settings, and then tapping Biometrics and security. Tap Face recognition and then enter your credentials. You can now tap Remove face data to clear the facial recognition data so that you can have a fresh start.

If the issue still occurs, please visit the service centre for a physical device inspection. You can locate your nearest service centre with this given link: https://www.samsung.com/in/support/service-center/

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
