This morning, out of nowhere, my Samsung S23 developed green and red lines on the display. Concerned, I immediately reached out to Samsung customer support via email and phone. Unfortunately, their response was frustrating.

The support agent told me that there’s no fix available except for a paid display replacement, which costs ₹11,600 + GST—even though this is clearly a quality issue. When I escalated the matter to a supervisor, he simply repeated, "We can’t do anything since your phone is out of warranty." When I pointed out that many users are reporting the same issue after the warranty period, the conversation got heated, and they disconnected the call.

My phone is just 1.5 years old, and now I’m forced to pay for an expensive repair despite investing ₹80,000 in this device. This feels like a scam—why do so many older Samsung flagships suddenly develop green and red lines when a new "S" series model is released? This seems like an intentional pattern.

Samsung claims to provide 4 years of security patches and OS updates, but what’s the point if the phone doesn’t even last 2 years without a major hardware issue? What’s the use of software updates when the display itself fails?

I trusted Samsung when I purchased this phone, but now I feel cheated. If a premium device can't last even two years without a major hardware failure, what does that say about its quality? Samsung needs to take responsibility for this issue instead of forcing customers to pay for their faults.

Has anyone else faced the same issue? Let’s raise awareness so Samsung acknowledges this problem!

Yes I got issue 1 week back.I went service center and situation is same. They are saying not possible for free replacement as it was not under free replacement policy. How to move forward, we should fight and get it done.

Yes same issue is caused for me also .I visited a nearby service center, and they inspected my phone. They confirmed that the issue was caused by the latest update, with no physical damage found, and assured me that a reset was not necessary. They advised me to contact Samsung’s helpline, which I did. However, despite their promise to call back, the issue remains unresolved. My phone is only a year old, and I’m extremely dissatisfied. This problem was caused by Samsung’s update, not by me, yet I’m being asked to pay for the service. This is unfair to customers. With such an experience, I’d rather switch to Apple for my next phone.
