This is an update to my previous post regarding the white screen issue on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I took the device to the service center, upon which they performed a physical inspection. Although they agreed that there is no damage of any kind to the device, they bluntly refused to replace the display for free, stating that the device is out of warranty, even though this is clearly a manufacturing defect/software issue. I then got them to create a jobsheet and approached customer support, who tried to blame the issue on me, and told me there was no precedent for such an issue and they would not replace the screen for free at any cost, and that I would have to shell out a hefty sum out of my own pocket.

I am seeing new cases of the exact same issue being reported by customers every single day, and youtube is full of complaint videos, and yet Samsung is absolutely refusing to acknowledge this as their issue and provide customers with the appropriate resolution. Their attitude towards their customers is downright insulting.

Here's a link to a video of my device, showcasing the pristine condition it is in, and the issue I'm facing:

Needless to say, this will probably be my last ever Samsung device!

Great to hear Vivo is still doing the right thing. Samsung, on the other hand, has turned into a ghoulish, money-sucking vortex, insulting customers who are the very lifeline of their brand and business. Infuriating.

I did everything under the sun, got the device inspected at the Samsung Service Center and the images of the phone uploaded into their system, and fought tooth-and-nail with their customer care and service center. They say their free replacement policy until 31st Dec 2023 is only and only applicable for line issues on the display, and not for blank screen issues. The customer care executives did not even bother to be polite and were downright insulting, and flat-out refused to even consider my request. I am planning to approach the consumer court for this. The attitude is disgusting.

mine was a bar on the right side of the display from punch hole camera.. and variou horizontal yellow lines on the right side of the display..

listen talk to different customer agent and check with other service centres..

initiallly even inwas denied the replacement by saying it's only for vertical single white coloured line..but i made them talk to call centre guys.. then i told them everything they said samsung is providing Free display replacement .. how can service center deny it.. then i made them talk to service center ppl then the call center asked to look for updated ESG (their internal document) and then the service centre guys agreed to replace the screen

First and foremost, I want to thank you for letting me know that such a replacement policy existed in the first place 🙂. I did the same; I first went to the service center and got the device inspected. They confirmed there was no physical damage. I got a jobsheet created by them, and then spoke to the call centre quoting the number. The call center then spoke to the service center, and then both of them informed me (albeit impolitely) that the replacement option was only applicable for line issues on the display, and not for blank/flickering display issues. I communicated with them in multiple ways multiple times - via phone, whatsapp and in-person, but nothing I said made any difference - they are all adamant in their refusal to help.

I have already done it. There has been no response from Samsung yet, apart from their automated reply.
