I might be late to comment. But I found a rudimentary solution just now.

Simply tap the phone from one side, not gently. Apparently the autofocus mechanism gets stuck, which frees after the tapping and focussing works fine.

It's a shame that we have to such dhakka-start to one of the most premium phones worldwide. It's a bigger shame that Samsung never officially acknowledged the issue (at least not to my knowledge) and never recalled, or repaired the fault.

See if it works for you too. Like this reply if it resolves the issue.

Nothing works. Only thing that works is tapping on one of the edges. It frees up mechanism and starts focussing.

So far who ever I spoke to went o service centre and forced them to change the lens. Post which the issue was resolved. The service centre says there's nothing wrong. So make sure to carry proof ...images ..screen recordings etc.

The trick that worked for me was to hit the top of the phone a couple of times and reopen the camera app. But unfortunately it needs to be done every time. Hope this is helpful.
This issues was seen from 2 updates back.
