Dear Samsung Community,

I purchased myS21 FE device in September 2022, and it was working fine until two months ago when the notoriousGreen Line issue began to appear, likely due to a software problem. Initially, the line was thin and faint, but it has since become thicker and brighter. Currently, there are three lines on my screen.

When the first line appeared, I contacted customer support, who advised me to reboot and update the device, assuring me that this would resolve the issue. However, we all know these basic troubleshooting steps won’t fix a problem of this nature. It felt like an attempt to dismiss the issue rather than address it.

I then visited a service center, where they acknowledged that the green lines are due to asoftware issue. However, they refused to provide a free display replacement because my device has a small scratch on the side metal frame. It’s clear that such minor cosmetic damage could not have caused these lines; they are the result of a software bug. These issues are common across various Android devices, regardless of any minor physical damage, and other companies have been offering free replacements in such cases.

Samsung needs to honor its customers and provide a proper solution to these kinds of issues. As more and more users report similar problems, trust in the brand is at risk.

Samsung promises 5 years of software support for its devices.But what is the significance of this support if the device can't even last for two years? There's a growing concern that Samsung could potentially harm devices through these faulty updates, which might not be properly tested and validated for long-term effects, thereby forcing users to buy new devices sooner than expected.

I was fully integrating into the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem and recently purchased a Galaxy Watch. However, it seems like my mobile device might become unusable in a few weeks. As a loyal customer who has always recommended Samsung devices to friends and family, this is disappointing.

Moreover, when I inquired about exchanging my device at other online and offline stores, they refused due to the display line issue. This means that not only are these devices prone to failure, but they also lose their value quickly, leaving customers with no recourse.

I wanted to share this experience to inform others that these issues may not be easily resolvable and could lead to a loss of the hard-earned money spent on Samsung devices.

What is the warranty period for mobile devices?

Smartphones: 24 months

Tablets: 24 months

So my question what is the significance of providing 3 years of software update and 5 years of security update.? My device did only lasted for 21 months. There is no assurance that your device can last till the listed time period.

Kindly complaint to Samsung customer support through Samsung Members App as error report also send log files Along with this error report for this issue. Then go to service center for replace /repair it's. If you like please accept as a solution it's help to others users also, click on 3dots in my reply section and click on accept solution. Thanks.

I send them total 5 email regarding this issue, still I don't have any reply over mail. I didn't thought samsung is such irresponsible to their valuable customers. I visited service center, tried to connect with the customer support on WhatsApp: their response was to reeboot the device.

It's really annoying that the device we purchasing spending this sort of amount not lasting a reasonable span of time.Samsung must consider fixing these sort of issues in order to keep their customers happy.

With this experience I've completely lost all the trust in the Samsung brand. I have seen multiple green line issues on different samsung devices which the users shared on different online platforms, they can't just ignore these. Hope the officials will reach out to me and help solve my issue to show their commitment to their customer.

So sad to here. We are investing a lot for this non lasting product and the customer service is blaming us.
