The One UI 8 beta program presents a mix of improvements and persistent issues. While the beta is a step toward a more polished and stable experience, some critical bugs remain, particularly for media consumption and gaming.
Battery Performance:
A notable positive this time around is the stable battery performance. Unlike some previous beta programs where battery drain was a major concern, the One UI 8 beta seems to have a more optimized power management. This is a welcome change that allows users to test the new features without constantly worrying about their device's charge.
App Compatibility and Streaming Issues:
App compatibility is still a work in progress. Specifically, apps like Netflix are not working properly. When streaming in 2K quality, the video play/pause button is not functioning as it should, leading to a frustrating user experience. This suggests that some third-party applications still need to be updated to be fully compatible with the new beta.
Gaming Performance and Touch Sensitivity (A Major Issue):
The most significant and frustrating issue in this beta is the poor performance in gaming, particularly with popular titles like BGMI and Free Fire. The touch sensitivity is notably slow, which is a major handicap in fast-paced games. This problem is exacerbated if you use a glass screen protector, making the touch input even less responsive. This is a serious concern for gamers and is arguably the most critical bug that needs to be addressed before the final release.

Dear Samsung Team,
First of all, thank you for launching the Samsung S24 Ultra — a truly stunning device in terms of design and overall feel. It’s a bold step into the next generation of smartphones, and I genuinely appreciate the innovation behind it.
However, I’d like to share some concerns regarding the gaming experience and touch responsiveness, especially while using the One UI 8 Beta. These issues may not be easily visible in logs, but they are definitely felt during real-world usage — and I’d appreciate guidance on how to share such experiential feedback or relevant log files.
Here are the key issues I’ve encountered:
• Gaming Performance: While playing BGMI and Free Fire, the device heats up quickly and the touch response becomes noticeably delayed. For a flagship like the S24 Ultra, I expected millisecond-level responsiveness, especially with gaming boost features enabled.
• Touch Sensitivity with Screen Protection: After applying a high-quality fingerprint-supported glass protector, the touch sometimes behaves abnormally — especially during gaming. Even a single drop of water on the screen causes erratic behavior. This severely impacts gameplay and overall usability.
• User Experience: These issues are subtle but significant, and I believe many users might be facing similar challenges. It would be helpful if Samsung could optimize touch sensitivity and gaming performance further, especially for users who use screen protectors.
Despite these concerns, I want to reiterate my appreciation for the S24 Ultra’s design and ambition. It’s a remarkable device, and I’m hopeful that future updates will address these performance gaps.
Thank you for considering my feedback, and for continuing to push boundaries in mobile innovation.
Warm regards,
Milton

Gaining access to a beta program after it has closed or is full can be difficult, as developers often cap the number of testers to manage feedback and server load.
