Phone auto-updated again. I'm literally fed up of Samsung

I got another forced One UI auto-update. If anything (more) happens to my display, Samsung has to take responsibility for it. They are already responsible for the lines on my screen but they haven't owned up to it even if it's happening to thousands of users. This time I have taken a video and photo again with my watch for date and time while it was being updated. Even the videos I took last time have them on the screen when the phone started after update (with no lines on the screen). My phone is old, fine, but that doesn't mean Samsung has any right to mess it up. There isn't any overheating. My phone didn't even heat up a little during updates. This is Samsung's doing and I never thought I'd be so terrified of system updates. I'm attaching GIF of last time I took the video and photo of this time with the watch. I've been using this phone with lines for 2 months now and Samsung still won't stop harassing me with their forced device destroyers. I'm not giving them another rupee again and I'm not just talking about phones.

Disable autoupdate over wifi in your phone. And if somehow your phone got updated next time never install the update on your phone.

Believe it or not, it's already disabled for almost 2 years. Not just that but I've also turned off auto-download for updates. That's how I know I'm getting forced updates. I really can't do anything if I am doing something and suddenly 'OneUI' flashes on my screen. I was booking a movie ticket when this happened today 🙄

I contacted Samsung and got a jobsheet. They said there's nothing else wrong with my device as there's no physical or water damage. After this, Samsung still only offered me 25% discount like last time. That's still 12k for something that's their fault. I've already paid them once for the display. They should be giving me a free display this time as my phone was only 1y 7m old when I got a green line last time and they made me pay for it. I also have a screenshot of my settings which shows that I hadn't updated my phone since March 2023 (took it in November). I have a proof that my phone was fine before the update in November when I got the first line. I was blindly buying S series phones for the so-called quality but not anymore. I think I will buy Google Pixel or something next. I can't believe I didn't even think of buying a phone from a different brand ever 🙄 🙄 🙄 This is what Samsung does to their loyal customers.

I think this is what they are providing us in the name of their ease of operations (One ui). Yes most of us have to agree that we choose samsung for their user interface and paying hefty amount for their premium segments mobiles. And Samsung is taking full advantage of this strategy.

Here are a few things to check and try:

Check your update settings again:

Double-check your phone settings to ensure that automatic updates are truly disabled, including both the "Download updates over Wi-Fi only" and "Download updates automatically" options.

Check for carrier updates:

Sometimes, your carrier may push updates separately, which could be causing the forced update behavior. Contact your carrier to see if there's a way to manage these updates.

Check for system updates:

Sometimes, a system update may be designed to automatically install critical security patches even if you've disabled automatic updates.

Clear cache and data:

Try clearing the cache and data of the "Software update" app on your phone. This can sometimes resolve issues with update settings not saving correctly.

Contact Samsung Support:

If you've checked all settings and the issue persists, reach out to Samsung customer support. They may be able to identify a specific issue with your device or provide further troubleshooting steps.

I understand your frustration and concern about the forced One UI auto-update potentially damaging your display. It's unacceptable that you're experiencing issues with lines on your screen, and Samsung's lack of acknowledgment and support is disappointing.

Key Points
1. _Documented evidence_: You have taken videos and photos with timestamps, which serves as evidence of the issue.
2. _No overheating_: You've mentioned that your phone didn't overheat during the updates, which rules out overheating as a potential cause.
3. _Previous issues_: You've been experiencing issues with lines on your screen for 2 months, and Samsung's updates seem to be exacerbating the problem.

Recommendations
1. _Escalate the issue_: Reach out to Samsung's customer support again, and escalate the issue to a higher-level representative. Provide them with the documented evidence you've collected.
2. _Request a replacement or repair_: Given the persistent issues with your display, request a replacement or repair of your device.
3. _Consider a third-party repair service_: If Samsung is unwilling to assist, you may want to explore third-party repair services that can assess and potentially fix the issue.
4. _Spread awareness_: Share your experience on social media and online forums to raise awareness about the potential risks of forced updates and the importance of proper support from manufacturers.

Remember to stay calm and assertive when communicating with Samsung's customer support. You have the right to a functional device, and it's their responsibility to ensure that their updates don't cause harm.
