Galaxy S1. Exynos vs Snapdragon Processor
The S23 FE comes in two versions:
Exynos 2200 (Europe, India)
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (USA, some other regions)
Exynos 2200 is known to run hotter and be less efficient compared to Snapdragon. If you’re using the Exynos version, it’s a common complaint.
2. Heavy Background Processes
Apps running in the background, syncing, or constantly accessing the internet (e.g., social media, cloud services) can heat up the phone.
3. Camera & Video Editing Stress the GPU/CPU
These tasks are resource-intensive.
If the phone lacks good thermal management (cooling hardware/software throttling), it will overheat faster.
4. Software Bugs or Poor Optimization
New firmware updates sometimes introduce thermal issues. If you recently updated your phone, this might be a cause.
Poor app optimization (especially AI or video apps) can push the processor more than necessary.
5. Ambient Temperature
If you're using the phone in a hot environment or under direct sunlight, the phone will naturally get warmer.
6. AI and Advanced Features
Samsung’s AI features (e.g., real-time transcription, smart photo editing) use neural processing units (NPUs), which generate heat.
7. Poor Battery Health or Charging
If your battery is faulty or you're using a third-party charger, heat can build up even when not heavily using the phone.

Galaxy S1. Update Your Phone
Go to Settings > Software update and install the latest firmware.
Samsung often releases thermal management improvements in updates.
2. Limit Background Apps
Close unused apps.
Go to Settings > Battery & device care > Memory to clear background processes.
3. Disable AI Features (If Not Needed)
If you notice overheating when using specific smart features, try disabling them temporarily.
4. Use Power Saving or Light Performance Mode
Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Power Saving Mode
You can also reduce screen resolution or refresh rate.
5. Avoid Using While Charging
Don’t use heavy apps or games while the phone is charging.
6. Use Game Booster or Thermal Guardian (Good Guardians App)
Samsung’s "Thermal Guardian" (via Good Guardians app from Galaxy Store) can help monitor and manage CPU heat.
7. Factory Reset (Last Resort)
If overheating persists, backup your data and do a factory reset to rule out software conflicts.
