Ideally OnePlus should take the proprietary and brand the software OS as One UI as it suits with the overall brand name.👍😊🔥
However OnePlus has different plan and Samsung branded the software name as One UI.🤔🤔😅
Samsung rebrand their software as One UI during the period when OnePlus in their dream run in market.💥🚀
It was a cleaver move by Samsung that time to rebrand the OS as One UI and did got job to regain the market with good software support.🎉👏👍
Currently One UI is struggling to provide Andriod 15 in existing phones. Probably developers team is struggling or business strategy to sell S25 series as they know they did nothing on hardware.😥🤔😕
On the other hand, Oneplus already provided android 15 in existing flagship as well as mid range phones. This is catching everyone's eye that slowly and steadily OnePlus again doing great job in software support .🏆👏🚀

It makes sense as you mentioned that update could have been kept hold to improve the sales of newer models as there is no major hardware upgrade in last few years

Cheap marketing of One UI 7. Worst update policy till date. The OnePlus 12 already received the stable OxygenOS 15 update in January, with smooth and better animation, but Samsung is struggling to roll out Android 15.

And post/advise silly reasons to delay behind One UI experience so smoother and smarter UI.

Oneplus and other Chinese brands doing great job in update of Android 15 while Samsung struggles or delayed to do the same thing.
