Why samsung doesn't learn from iPhone, and roll out software update to all devices worldwide at the same time. Its unbelievable that we are less than a week away from new year and we still haven't received the software update for most of the flagship devices.

Although that would be great. Android devices differ too much compared to iOS. And the OS also becomes a bit different for each mobile (even within Samsung itself).

Apple uses its chips on all its devices, while Samsung makes use of at least 3 different manufacturers (Snapdragon - premium, Samsung (Exynos) - midrange, MediaTek - low-end, etc). This brings about different architectures and therefore different behavior for the same OS. Since Samsung has so many devices it promised an update, they have to get to all of them and they don't seem to get time to test on the devices, so the releasing in batches is so that if there's something incredibly wrong with the update it gets fixed and the other devices receive the update with the fix implemented already. People are already complaining about the OneUI 6 bugs.

TL;DR: They decided to produce too many devices in too many regions with different laws (like call recording laws not being the same). Now they have too many variations to account for. While Apple releases 3/4 devices a year.

As much as I agreed with you that Samsung releases too many devices and it is a challenge when it is time for software update I still think there is something every wrong which they are doing. If they are able to release software update for some region why does it take so long to release it to other regions? I don't believe it takes months to remove certain features that are not applicable to that region.

It's been more than a month since S22 and A73 received One UI6 in other regions but nothing for South Africa.

I think Samsung is taking us as South Africans or African for granted.

Yeah, that does raise some questions. Especially considering that they promised to make the updates better than last year, it kind of seems way worse than last year. There are even some features that have no reason to be excluded from the SA region.

It does raise some questions. Worse part they are now also neglecting us when it comes to security patches. My A73 has August security patch some S22 has October security patches.

From where I am standing it seems line there are certain countries that are priority to them and others are just there to supplement the big bucks that they are collecting from those big markets.

They have a bigger market share this side, and people would think that should motivate them, but until Huawei comes back into play, there's really no reason for Samsung to think they'll lose many customers so they can relax when it comes to SA because iPhone doesn't release as many devices to compete for market share outside of high-end devices.

Last time I made a post showing that Samsung has over 50% market share when it comes to smartphones in SA. And I made a case that this should count for something.

Others were saying even though it is like that we are not such a big market maybe compared to market like US, UK, India and other big markets.

I'm not entirely sure in terms of market differences. But those other regions you mentioned don't just have Samsung and iPhone competing that's why the prioritize those because they can lose the market share. With SA, no one is threatening them besides Apple.
