Issue with fingerprint scanner.

I have bought Galaxy S24 Ultra one week back. It's fingerprint locking/unlocking is not working properly. It's so insensitive to my fingerprint while locking and unlocking. I have reset the phone to default settings. My Honor 90 5G is so fast to fingerprint locking/unlocking. Though with great difficulty I registered my fingerprint , I am not able to unlock the mobile with same finger. Face unlock is working superbly. Can anybody suggest the solution. By the way the issue was persisting even before putting screen guard.

I also faced the same issue at start but the phone now seems to have adapted and the now it works flawlessly. You can also try adding the same fingerprint twice or give it some time to learn your fingerprint.

As per your query, we would request you to kindly perform the following steps to resolve your issue.

Remove fingerprint and set up fingerprint again:

Remove the current fingerprint and set up the fingerprint again. When you touch the sensor to set up your fingerprint, make sure you set the entire fingerprint, including the outer area of your fingertip. Setting the entire fingerprint area enables successful fingerprint recognition with any grip.

How to remove Fingerprint: Settings > Biometrics and Security > Fingerprints > Fingerprint1 > Remove > Remove again to confirm.

How to Set up Fingerprint: Settings > Biometrics and Security > Fingerprints > Add Fingerprint > Scan your fingerprint > Place your finger on the sensor, then lift it off when you feel a vibration > Continue >
Reposition your finger each time to capture the edge of your fingerprint > Tap on Done.

Fingerprint added successfully.

If the issue persists kindly report the problems with a log file. To share a log file, click on the Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on error report > Type your query > Send).

I also experienced the same issue when I first registered my fingerprint, but after a few attempts, it started functioning normally.

I did not face any issue from the beginning. The finger print recognition is very smooth. But note that the experience changes to very hard press finger if you are using tempered glass screen protector. That is why never use a tempered screen glass protector.
