As per your query, we would request you to kindly perform the following steps to resolve your issue.
In this case please check what is network setting in your handset when it is showing 5G network.
If you ar using 5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) then 5G will get connected automatically when it is available. You needs to select LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) option to use LTE only.
