Check temperature of both using cpu float app or zcpu other you like.
If battery produce more heat in normal use then battery problem.
If CPU frequency is not updating and not taking rest then kernel problem (software problem)
If CPU is changing frequency and goes lower on law usage then phone have heatsink issue(hardware )
