Galaxy S23 series smartphones are rated for 15W for wireless charging. However, the phones can charge at this wattage only if Samsung’s own wireless charger is used. If a third-party wireless charger is used the charging wattage will drop to 10W. That wasn’t the case with the Galaxy S22.

PhoneArena has tested the wireless charging speeds of the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S23, and the results are shocking. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has the same battery capacity and charging speed as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, takes 40 minutes more to charge from 0-100% than it's predecessor. Both phones were charged using Samsung’s 15W wireless charger (EP-P2400), which means that it was charging at the highest possible speed, and yet, it took more time to charge than the Galaxy S22 Ultra at 15W.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra now takes more time to charge wirelessly than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which means that Samsung’s flagship charges the slowest among all the latest flagship smartphones in the world.

This is a good analysis.

However what needs to be considered is that s22 ultra is 1 year old which means that the battery health might have degraded on s22 compared to fairly new battery of the s23 ultra that could be the reason why s23 takes longer time to charge compared to s22 ultra.

I would not believe these tests unless whoever the tester is verifies with data whether both the devices are on a 100% battery health & also verifies whether both the devices are drawing the same amount of current.

Recently i bought S23 Ultra. Then i tried to charge it wirelessly using Samsung charger duo wireless charger. When i placed my s23 ultra on that wireless charger , it shown that it takes 1 hours 55 minutes in fast wireless charging to charge from 2 % to 100%. But actually it took 4 hours 28 minutes to charge in reality that too in fast wireless charging. i tried again with other third party wireless chargers. for that also it almost the same time to charge.

What might be the problem behind this? or do every S23 ultra takes this long to charge ?
