Quick question, I think there must be some sort of operating system issue with my Samsung s23 FE because it isn't upgrading to UI 6.0, I don't have an old phone phone to move my data to and from so how do you do a full backup and reinstall (including WhatsApp that is always a pest to get over 100%)

Is your WhatsApp backup set to end-to-end encryption? If so, maybe you should disable it and try to backup again and hopefully it will be successful since the encryption slows down the process. I hope that helps. *Just remember the encryption password just in case you need it*

I just read on WhatsApp's website that manual backups are no longer a thing, now if you want to do it manually there's an option called 'Transfer chats' but that requires a phone that doesn't have WA so I'm thinking if you're mate's phone has dual sim, you can add your WhatsApp on theirs and use the transfer chat feature from your phone to the dual sim phone and then you can wipe your phone and re-transfer your WA back to your phone with the same process.

I realise now that it's a stretch but if it's possible I hope it works.

Hehe see why my question, yeah, manual backup seems to be working, very slow but running but transfer chat just stopped halfway on a friend's phone and couldn't do anything, I did the chat transfer before I have my s20 to my dad funnily because software updates wasn't a problem for him. You can do dual e-sims on the s20 ultras.

Nice, I haven't gotten into the e-sims thing yet, still believe in a sim card 😂 Since you said the manual backup worked out at least you got it out the way 🎉 So much for transfer chat 😑 They probably want us to just use the Google Drive instead 🙃

Hi JAXXOB

Try updating via Smart switch.

The steps are as follows;
You will first need to download the Smart switch app on your phone and PC

Step 1. Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable provided with your device, and then open Smart Switch on your computer. Step 2. If a software update is available, Smart Switch might automatically prompt you to update the software or will display an option to update

To backup your WhatsApp,;

Open your WhatsApp and  go to:

  1. Settings menu, tap on "Chats."

  2.  Tap on "Chat backup."

  3. Tap on "Back up to Google Drive." Select the Google account you want to use for the backup. If you haven't connected your Google account yet, tap on "Account" to add and connect your Google account.

  4. Select Backup Options: Choose the backup frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or never) and whether to include videos in the backup. You can also tap on "Back up over" to choose whether to back up using Wi-Fi only or include cellular data.
