N.B. It should be stated here that I have adopted these methods and I have obtained the full results. Now my phone's battery doesn't drain as quickly. My professional requirements require me to be online all the time.Even then, my phone's battery lasts a long time.So I thought it was necessary to share this with everyone. In case it is useful to anyone, especially those who find their phone's battery draining quickly.

**Introduction**
Samsung’s One UI 7 and Android 15 update brought many new features and security improvements. However, many users face various issues such as fast battery drain, phone freezing, app crashes, heating problems, and delayed notifications after upgrading.

In this article, we will discuss effective steps you can take to resolve these post-upgrade problems and maintain your phone’s battery life and performance like before.

*1. Wipe Cache Partition**

Old system cache can cause issues. Boot into recovery mode and perform **Wipe cache partition** to clear temporary files.

*2. Enable Battery Optimization and Background Restrictions**

* Go to **Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits**
* Enable “Put unused apps to sleep” and add unnecessary apps to “Sleeping/Deep Sleeping apps”
* Check battery optimization for individual apps:
 **Settings > Apps > \[Select App] > Battery > Optimize usage**

*3. Keep Your Apps Updated**

After a system update, old apps may not be fully compatible with the new firmware and can cause problems. Always update your apps via the Play Store or Galaxy Store.

*4. Check in Safe Mode**

Boot your phone into safe mode to determine if third-party apps are causing issues. Safe mode disables all third-party apps temporarily.

*5. Optimize Screen Settings**

* Set **Motion smoothness** to “Standard (60Hz)” instead of “Adaptive” or “High”
* Reduce **Screen timeout** to 15–30 seconds
* Enable **Dark Mode** (especially effective on OLED screens)
* Turn off **Always On Display**

*6. Manage Location and Sensor Permissions**

* Grant **Location permissions** only when necessary
* Turn off **Wi-Fi scanning** and **Bluetooth scanning**
* Disable NFC and Nearby Share when not in use

*7. Turn Off Nearby Device Scanning**

This feature continuously searches for nearby Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices in the background, causing excessive battery drain.

* Go to **Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Nearby device scanning** and turn it **OFF**

*8. Disable Unnecessary Features to Prevent Hidden Battery Drain**

A. **Continue Apps on Other Devices**

* Go to **Settings > Advanced features > Continue apps on other devices** and turn it **OFF**

 B. **SmartThings and SmartView (if not used)**

* Disable auto-connect or auto-scan options
* Uninstall or disable the apps if unnecessary

*9. Send Software Feedback**

Report any persistent issues through the **Samsung Members app** under **Get help > Error reports** to help Samsung improve updates.

*10. Factory Reset (Last Resort)**

If all else fails, perform a **Factory Data Reset** to restore your phone to clean settings and set it up again.

*Conclusion**

While new Android and One UI updates bring useful features, certain “always-on” connectivity features like **Continue apps on other devices**, **Nearby device scanning**, and **SmartThings** silently increase battery consumption. Managing these settings consciously will help you enjoy longer battery life and smooth smartphone performance.

Actually samsung has to clear the mess they have created with One UI 7 rather than users trying 10 things. Also if One UI 8 is also messed up like this then no use of expecting fixes by samsung. Fixing issues and bringing new features should be easy compared to other brands as both samsung and Google are in collaboration to develop android

You're right. But we still need to do these things for our own good.

Gpt ++ , also what's the point of buying a flagship we have to do make it's experience as a budget phone by using screen 60hz, no AOD, NFC, do factory reset .. . And if you are okay with all then 2 suggestion from my side is to keep your phone switch off when no in use also when on never go for the brightness above 30%
