Just a suggestion, Please disable the option to power off your phone when pressing volume down and powerbutton together when the phone is locked. atleast put "power off" option under any fingerprint or pin security mechanisms.
It is a safety feature, it is needed when the phone stops responding to any input due to lag or any other issue, without this option you will need to open your phone's back and disconnect the battery to fix the issue.
This is the last resort, if nothing is working then how can someone put PIN or fingerprint! Moreover this key combo doesn't turn the phone off it just restarts the device. Also if you think thieves are less intelligent then you will be disappointed to know that nowadays stolen phones aren't sold in whole they are being used for parts.
First off all the combo gives option to power off and second of all I specifically about shutting down the phone.. not for reboot. Reboot can still be there but not powering off. The first line of action all thieves will do is switching off and not all thieves are as brilliant as u think.
Buddy you have neither made yourself clear in your non edited post nor in your last reply. See I've been using smartphones since 2010, across various brands, and none of them allow selecting options when using non-responsive device recovery key combos. If the touchscreen isn’t working, how would someone input a PIN, fingerprint, or select options?
From my experience, pressing recovery key combos (like Power + Volume buttons) typically forces the device to reboot, not present a menu. This behavior seems consistent with Samsung phones and many other Android devices.
I have edited bcz to make other people understand.. To make myself clear, i am only talking about shutting down function when pressing volume down and powerbutton when the phone is locked. When you do that it will give out and option which includes Power off along with reboot medical info and emergency. In that disable that power off option. That's only my point. I am not talking about long pressing power button and volume button to reboot and all. I hope I made myself clear.
Am sorry for not pointing out the condition was when phone is locked. when pressing volume down button and power button for a couple of second or so and release it afterwards will present you the same menu u get when u hold the power button. Reboot will happen when u press and hold for around for longer duration. That time it will simple reboot.
