Default pdf app on dual whatsapp

Im being prompted to choose an app to open pdf every single time despite setting adobe as default pdf viewer on Dual whatsapp.
On main whatsapp, pdf files open automatically in adobe pdf. Tried changing default apps in settings but to no avail.
This is getting annoying, please help.
