Charging slow and sometimes charger not detected

hi guys, my s6 is taking lot of time to charge, sometimes 5-6 hours from 30% to 100% and occasionally it doesn't detect my charger at all and won't charge.
Please let me know the solution in case you faced this issue or know the solution. it would be really helpful.

If your charging cord is very old, then buy a new one
